Until further notice, the Tarrant County Chess Club is currently not meeting.

The Club is an affiliate of the United States Chess Federation (USCF). The Club also holds club membership in the Texas Chess Association (TCA). Tarrant County is located in TCA Region II.

We also sponsor frequent chess tournaments, which you can find listed on our events calendar. These are generally open to all players, regardless of playing strength. You must be a member of the USCF to play, but you can join the USCF at the tournament site.

Is there a club membership fee?

Not at all! We run a very friendly club which takes care of itself by running tournaments and other chess events. You're a member the minute you walk through the door!

Where in the Barnes & Noble Booksellers do we play?

We gather near the Coffee Shop area and play on any of the spare tables. If nobody's arrived yet, wait a while. Most of the crowd tends to show up by 7 pm

What kind of Chess do we play?

Visitors and regulars may participate in chess activities of their choosing including: Skittles, Practice games, Action Chess (G/30), Game study and analysis, Blitz Chess (G/5), Informal instruction, Quick Chess (G/10 to G/29) and Bughouse Chess. The Club is open to all! So bring a board, bring a set, bring a clock or just bring yourself. No matter if your preference is blitz or a nice slow game you'll always find someone to play with. Do I need to bring my board, set or chess clock?

Only if you want to. We provide all the necessary equipment needed to get you your chess fix for the evening!

I/My child would like to learn to play better. Can you guys help?

Absolutely. The TCCC is often frequented by a few good chess coaches as well as some really strong, but friendly players who offer a lot of good advice.

Weekly Club Sessions

Meetings shall be held for the purpose of chess competition, study, or other leisure chess activity in an informal, friendly, wholesome and social atmosphere.
